Lilydale High School parents forced to pay more
Lilydale High School parents will be forced to pay an annual levy between $150 and $300 per year because of Federal Labor’s bungling of their computers in schools policy.Prior to the last election, Kevin Rudd promised to put a computer on the desk of every secondary school student in years 9-12, but made no allowance for the costs of re-wiring, power, software, security, installation and teacher training and all the things needed to make the computers actually work.After nearly 12 months of indecision, denial and death by dialogue with the Brumby Labor Government, it has now been revealed that Lilydale High School parents must pay a levy of between $150 and $300 so the school can actually use the computers.Many concerned parents of Lilydale High School have been in contact with both Tony Smith MP, the Federal Member for Casey and Christine ... more
