Over the past few months, I have been able to announce some major projects for the residents of the outer east, Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges which build on the many projects already completed.

Dirt roads are a real and everyday issue for thousands of people in the Casey electorate. That’s why in April, the Federal Budget included $300 million to seal unmade dirt roads in the Dandenongs and surrounding areas.

The Morrison Government has announced it has contributed $10 million of federal funding for the Rivers and Ridges trails network.

This is a significant contribution for Stage 1 of the Rivers and Ridges trails network project and brings the total funding from the Federal Government to $15.3 million.

The Federal Liberal and Nationals Government has announced it will invest $80,000 of federal funding into a new carpark at Menzies Creek Primary School to alleviate the growing congestion around the school.

The Morrison Government will make a further investment to expand the CCTV security camera network throughout the Casey electorate.

$120,000 of federal funding has been provided for CCTV security cameras in Warburton, $149,000 for a network in Upwey and $115,000 for Wandin North.

A Win For Local Sporting Clubs

The Federal Liberal and Nationals Government will invest $4 million of federal funding for four important community sporting infrastructure projects in our local community.

A $1 million federal contribution will be provided for the construction of a new Wandin North Community Pavilion including an additional netball court to cater for the very welcome increase in female participation.

A $ 1 million federal funding contribution will also be provided for the construction of a new pavilion at the Mt Evelyn Recreation Reserve.

At Kimberley Reserve in Chirnside Park, $1 million will be provided for essential oval upgrades and associated works, and lighting upgrades.

A $1 million federal funding contribution will also be provided for the construction of a new pavilion at Mooroolbark Soccer Club at Esther Park.

The Liberal National Government will invest $4.5 million over three years to support the mental health of young Australians in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.

Government funding will help establish an integrated Youth Health Hub (IYH), which will include a headspace service, through the Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN).

$12 million to boost immunisation

The Liberal National Government will ensure 170,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and adolescents are vaccinated against the flu for free and additionally provide a $12 million to boost a national immunisation education campaign.

New laws giving older Australians a better deal in retirement have passed the Parliament.

The Retirement Incomes Bill 2018 will make a number of changes to give locals more financial options in retirement from July 1.

Full-time employment is at a record high of 8,743,100 after growing by 65,400 in January 2019
