Local Updates

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has recently changed the boundaries for the Casey electorate. Casey has increased in size and now includes all of the Dandenong Ranges. Its boundaries largely mirror those of the Yarra Ranges Council.
I am thrilled that the new East Warburton phone tower is up and operating. The Turnbull Government's Blackspot funding programme was created so towers like this could be built and communities like East Warburton could be assisted.
Casey is set to benefit from improved tourism following the announcement that the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination project will be funded under the Building Better Regions Fund – Infrastructure Projects stream.
At the last election I pledged $45,000 to provide a state-of- the- art CCTV security camera network for Woori Yallock. Now that the cameras are up and running, they will prevent and deter a significant amount of local crime.

In an exciting development for tennis players in Lilydale, a project to resurface two tennis courts at the Lilydale Tennis Club has recently been completed. $20,000 in funding from the Turnbull Government’s Stronger Communities Programme, which was matched by the Club, ensures that all of the Club’s courts are of a similar standard. Lilydale Tennis Club now has the capacity to host regional tournaments.
