New electronic scoreboard for Warburton-Millgrove FC

Youth participation in sport in the Casey electorate will receive a major boost thanks to funding from the Turnbull Government’s Stronger Communities Grants programme, Federal Member for Casey Tony Smith MP has announced.

This programme provides funding for small-scale local infrastructure projects, ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, which are matched dollar for dollar.

The Warburton-Millgrove Football Netball Club has received a Federal Government contribution of $20,000, along with $29,000 from the Yarra Ranges Council, to purchase and install a new electronic scoreboard at their home ground.

The electronic screen can also be used to host movie nights for the community.

“It is fantastic to see this project delivered, which will provide further upgrades to the club’s facilities.”

“I believe it is important to support community participation in sport,” Mr Smith said.

“I am committed to building stronger local communities and through this funding our local sporting clubs will be able to enjoy their new electronic scoreboard.”

“This electronic scoreboard will make a welcome addition to the sporting facility here in Warburton and will benefit both participants and spectators of the game.”
